Tanzania Women's soccer Team 'Twiga stars' will entertain
Ethiopia this weekend on road to the 2012 African Women's Championships
which will be held in Equatorial Guinea later in November.Twiga stars suffered a 2-1 defeat against Ethiopia in Addis Ababa in the
first leg, and the ladies are keen to turn around things and impress
the home crowd by securing a place in the next round of the Qualifiers.
Twiga Stars head coach, Charles Mkwasa has urged Tanzanians to support
the Women's team in the return match against Ethiopia as they did when
Taifa Stars faced Gambian National team in the 2014 FIFA World Cup
Qualifiers game, where Tanzania emerged as 2-1 victors.
“We are having a good progress in training and preparations, and the
players are in good conditions. And I believe the players will do well
in the return match against Ethiopia” Mkwasa said
Mkwasa is optimistic, and he believes it will be a competitive game, but
Twiga stars will play well and win against Ethiopia, infront of the
home crowd.
“We rectified all the mistakes that occured in the first game. I call
upon, all Tanzanians to come and support the team so that they perform
well in the game - just like in the game between Taifa Stars and Gambia”
Mkwasa insisted.
Meanwhile, Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) President Leodegar Tenga
has also given his shout to all Tanzanians to come and support the
Women's team on road to the African Women's Championship
